Posted by arunseeker on July 18, 2008 under movies

The latest Batman flick-’The Dark Knight’  has hit theaters, and as usual Batman delves into the heart of darkness in a much awaited flick in the hugely popular Batman series.

The Dark Knight finally premiered in India and from what we saw, it was definitely a big affair with celebs and movie biggies making an appearance at the India premiere.

From the looks of things them ovie has made a big impression on those who attended the premiere.

When asked what they thought about the movie practically all the celebs seemed to be gushing about ‘The Dark Night’. Anurag Kashyap said, “I love Batman. I love the Dark Knight. It is the best comic. I love Chris Nolan . What more could you want in the movie?

Bollywood producer and director Onir, who also attended the premiere said, “Its always been great. I heard so much about it. I’m a great fan of Batman. I’m expecting to see a great performance from Christian Bale as well as Heath Ledger.

But the show stealer was definately Imran Khan who walked in with girlfriend Avantika. When we caught him during the interval and asked him what he thought of the movie, he said, “It’s amazing. It’s only the intermission so far but its spectacular. The film’s living upto my expectations. The advance booking records are broken. They’ve had to include two more shows.”

Pretty much everyone at the premiere had similar opinions

Looks like Dark Knight has become quite a favourite to the celebs here. But now the question remains as to what will the viewers’ verdict be? We’ll just have to wait and watch.

BCCI Vs ICL

Posted by arunseeker on July 17, 2008 under cricket

The Indian Cricket Board has  advised leg-spinner Piyush Chawla and stylish batsman VVS Laxman not to play for English counties that have players from rebel Indian Cricket League.

BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said both Chawla and Laxman have been asked to avoid playing for Hampshire and Nottinghamshire respectively.

Both Hampshire and Nottinghamshire have three players who have aligned with the ICL in their sides.

“Piyush Chawla will not be going because there are a few ICL players in that team. Even Laxman will be asked not to go to Nottinghamshire,” Shah said told a cricket website.

BCCI has taken a tough stand against the ICL ever since the Twenty20 league was started by the Subash Chandra owned Essel Group.

The Indian Cricket Board first launched their own competition –Indian Premier League– and even went to the extent of asking England Cricket Board to not allow its counties to field players connected with ICL.

It threatened that it will not allow English counties to appear in Champions Twenty20 League, even if they are eligible to appear in the competition, which will have two top domestic teams from India, England, Australia and South Africa competing.
